The Circle Experience camp..

I started packing for camp worrying.. Oh no! Cynthia said that it will be muddy.. and you have to throw away your shoes after that.. and you can to trek from Cdans in Bukit Gombak to Chinese Gardens.. God! Where the heck is Cdans? There will be high elements! AHHHZZZ..
With axiety weighing down my heart, I walked into SMU BT campus to await my fate at my facilitators hands..

Hmm.. My group warmed up slowly.. It was only after the spider web game that we eventually spoke more..
First we had some ice breakers.. tossing the ball ard and calling the other person's name.. trying to cut that down to the shortest time possible.. Eventualy what we did was to make a slope with our arms and row the balls down with the last person running to the front.. Then we had the eagle catching the chick game which if the last person in the row was killed.. our line would be cut short.. Our tactic was to coil ard our 'chick' which was Jia Xing and block him from being touched.. Later, we pitched our tents but we ended up with lots of problems..
1)Our fly sheet only had one elastic when we needed 4..
2)Our pegs were missing..
3)Another tent given to us was slanted..
4)Our tent bag was gone!!!

Then... the FIT insturctions gave us a replacement fly sheet.. we found the grp that stole our tent bag.. The slanted tent was hopeless anywae.. Rouhui, Sarah and Qiu Xin just ignored it and slept in it..

Moral of the story.. Don't leave your things where others can take them by mistake..

Hmm.. Lunch was dry fish with tasteless beancurd and ok cabbage on rice.. OH yeah.. each grp got a bunch of bananas..

After this, we went to High elements.. the instructor was really funny.. And it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.. It was much lower than the one we did in SP in secondary sch.. Plus my grp did the activity with the handholds so it was easier.. BUT.. tho it looked simple on the ground.. High up.. it was a lot harder.. Our arms have to stretch and pull ourselves along.. This we neglected to take into acc when we picked that particular high element to do.. But it was still an achievement to me since I was scared of heights.. Nvm that I was too busy looking for footholds and hand holds to look at the ground..

After this was spider web.. we pretty much sux at tt game.. we were only allowed to use each hole once.. And the holes were quite small.. the bigger ones were on the top.. hiazz.. After numerous tries and strict watching from our facils, we made it through.. BUT! it was on account of our integrity cos all of us closed one eye to see the person through the hole.. Later.. we got a lecture abt integrity from our facils.. abt whether we will mirror the situation in real life.. to just forget abt integrity just because we have come so far.. After this.. I also learnt to keep my mouth shut.. hahaha.. It's better to wait and watch..

Later we played flip the sheet.. Basically twelve members must be on the canvas sheet and the objective was to flip the sheet to the other side.. while the members were on the shet.. Whilst it sounds simple.. Let me assure you that it's not.. Since I was the heaviest girl.. I didn't play but instead and I helped to support the others.. Remaining 4 girls and 1 guy were carried by 6 guys... Sarah was on Jia Wei whose face was squashed next to someone's back and someone's thigh, Rou Hui on Farhan whose back was bent almost double.. Jia Xing (guy) was on Tim who somehow ended standing on one foot at one section and was cursing away... Aaron was the coordinator of the whole thing.. so he was the only one not carried... I didn't how he flipped the sheet but my role was to support the girls.. make sure everyone is ok.. and no one collapses.. at one time.. I was supporting Sarah with my shoulder so that Jia Wei could have a slight break.. The girls were on the guy's shoulders and it was easy for them to fall.. We came in 6th for that.. surprisingly.. when we had so much difficulty initially.. later.. most of us went ard to the other teams to help support them.. The last grp that finished really took a long time! The guy carrying the girl had his face squashed right into another guy's chest.. I had to keep asking him if he was ok.. and the girl on top was trembling too.. aiyohz.. helped give moral support and sometimes physical support.. Damon was also helping to support the girl so the guy could have a break.. Someone even told me tt that grp had a girl carrying a girl.. That's crazy la.. ok... I must be able to piggy back a 40kg girl and run for the mentoring camp but this is insane! A lot of moral support has to be there too.. "You're almost done! Jiayou! Come on! Soon! Soon! You can do it!" What we won from the game was the type of food provided for mess tin cooking in the wild.. We can to prepare a dish to be judged as well too..

Sooo.. with our cans of tuna and sardines and luncheon meat.. and instant noodles and egges, hotdogs and crabsticks.. plus frozen vegetables.. we came up with a dish called Mozzies delight..

Fried instant noodles with frozen veg and crabstick for colour.. luncheon meat slices by the side.. And hotdog omelette too... Viola! The judges got the good tasting food... we basically didn't bother abt our own food until later.. Later, we just ate instant noddles out of mess tins, had an omelette, dumped tuna into the noodles and mushroom.. heated the chicken curry out of a can... fried the remaining luncheon meat kinda thing.. One of the mess tins had noodles that was too salty.. apparently someone added an additional packet of seasoning by mistake.. eckk.. haha.. so we mixed the nooldes with the not so salty noodles.. hahaa

There was supper tho.. Milo and curry puff but our appetities had been whetted by the instant noodles.. so most mainly had milo.. Milo smelled like civilisation to me then.. Hahaha.. We played a cluedo kinda game except it was in real life.. Spreaking of the game.. there was a part when section 5 facils put up a show for us.. It was the facils pretending to be freshies attending the circle experience camp and how this 'couple' met during camp.. All of the voices were done by two voice actors.. haha.. Charmaine and Paul .. So Qiu Xin was the nerdy freshie.. There was the bimbotic freshie.. Damon was funny... He was like walking up to the attendence taking person and the voice actor said.. "My name's Damon, baby.." Then come along that chiobu freshie i think.. and Damon 'says' to her, "..(forgot the front).. I could spread butter all over you and eat you for breakfast.." Hahaah.. and the whole grp 56 cheers!!! HAhahaa..

So ends.. DAY 1.. Lights out, 1.30AM.. After girls finished toking.. 2am plus..
